Gianluca started fishing with his father at the age of two. Originally, he devoted himself to small river fish but during their holidays by the sea together, Gianluca and his dad got into a lot of rock fishing.

During his days at university Gianluca lived near a river, and his life was divided between books, parties and carp. In 2005 he discovered kayak fishing and since then has devoted himself almost exclusively to the research of large marine predators.

Working in his spare time in 2010 he founded the forum kayakfishingitalia.forumfree.it which currently holds most of the Italian fans of the sport of kayak fishing. Gianluca has won four Italian championships and promotes kayak fishing in Italy through his success in these events. After an amazing second place in the 2012 Hobie Kayak Fishing World Championship in Texas, Gianluca is delighted to have the opportunity to participate in the 4th Hobie Kayak Fishing World Championships in the Netherlands.

Gianluca is looking forward to catching up with friends he made in Texas and Victoria, making new ones and to entertaining everyone with his English and Dutch too.

Anywhere there’s water

Pierluigi started fishing when he was 8, in the rivers and the seas of southern Italy. Since 2003 his main passion is casting lures in saltwater searching all kinds of predators. He discovered kayak fishing in 2008 and in 2011 he caught and released the first Bluefin Tuna in Italy from a kayak, for an approximate weight of 65lb with 30lb gears. Pierluigi holds the Italian kayak fishing record for False Albacore (Euthynnus alletteratus) with a 31lb fish. He is sponsored by several important fishing brands with whom develops and tests fishing gears. He writes for the most important Italian fishing magazine and for many website and forums about kayak fishing, spinning and light vertical jigging.

His favourite catches are tunas, snappers, groupers, bluefishes and many others predatory fishes. In freshwater Pierluigi often likes to fish perch, trouts and chubs and sometimes even black bass.

Everywhere there’s water, Pierluigi is casting his lures!
